VIDEO: Project Blackjack 1968 Camaro

Project Blackjack is a sinister looking first-generation Camaro and is the end product of an intense 18-month restoration. Throughout the Smithy Customs restoration, every detail was considered, from the chassis, to the paint, to the interior, and everything in between. Oh and did we mention, this serious looker is powered by a LS3 and 6-speed transmission?

In case you aren’t familiar with Smithy Customs (welcome back from under your rock), they take restoration and customization to a whole new level. They specialize in pretty much everything needed to make the ‘perfect’ car. You can see their innovation in many different projects, of course including Project Blackjack.

This beautiful monster is powered by a GM LS3 crate engine. It is equipped with the MAST Motorsports M90 control package for 550hp applications. This package is made up of the wiring harness, ECM, relays, and other controls. The powerful engine is backed by the Tick Performance TR606 Stage 2 6-Speed transmission with Spec Stage 3 clutch. The power feeds into an Eaton Posi 3.90:1 geared rear end.

A Concept One Pulley System dresses the engine. While Lemon Headers lead into a Stainless Works custom exhaust system for a serious growl. Keeping this 1st-gen grounded is a Chris Alston Chassisworks ultimate suspension, RideTech Select Shockwave system, canted 4-link frame clips, and splined sway bar. This all rolls on 18×8/12 (staggered) Boze Tach wheels, and 245/335 Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

The interior is made custom made by Aaron Davis. It has a combo of BMW E45 M3 seats in the front, and narrowed factory rear seats in the back. They are covered by black Ferrari leather, which is brushed with vinyl highlights. It also has a Marquez three-piece headliner, Kenwood head unit, Digital Design subs, speakers, and amp.

Justin Smith, Kevin Willis, and assistance by Danny Kiran is to thank for the stunning paint and bodywork.Other components come from: Dakota Digital VHX gauges, American Autowire, RainGear, Bowler, Samaco reverse lockout, E-Stopp, Restomod Air, Nu-relics, Mcleod shifter & clutch master cylinder, and Ridetech Pro e3.blackjack-1
