Five Acres of Land with 340 Classic Cars in the Mix Up for Grabs

A very unique property listing is currently active through Century 21 in Tappen, B.C., Canada — it’s a five acre property with an unusual twist. For $1.45 million, you can buy this lot near Shuswap Lake, and the over 340 vintage cars that are parked on it. The five-acre listing isn’t a common scenario, and could be a blessing, or a nightmare, depending on how you feel about owning hundreds of non-running project cars.

The land, which is zoned for auto salvage, features a renovated home, 900-square foot shop set up for restoration, and a 1,200 square-foot steel building in addition to the vintage automobiles.

Michael Hall, the current property owner, is a rock scaler and business-owner who decided to start collecting vintage cars four decades back. He used to live in a more urban area with his collection and wife, but when city officials started to bug him about his cars, they picked up and moved to a farm. Then free to do what he wished with his collection, Hall bought an auto-wrecker from a friend and continued to expand.

Hall has added about 150 to 200 cars in the recent years, and he’s pretty proud of some of them. The bad new is, he won’t be leaving all of them, and the 1968 Chevelle SS 396 4-speed, 1941 Dodge coupe, and DeLorean are going with him.

There’s no current list of all the vehicles on the property, but it seems pretty eclectic from the photos. It’s hard to know what kind of deal $1.45 million really is without knowing exactly what’s on the lot, and what condition any of the cars are in — although most clearly aren’t in great shape.

The sell has apparently stemmed from a disagreement about the property between Hall in his wife, and she was tired of the lot with its automotive occupants. We’re interested to see how the sell shakes out, do you think this purchase would be a good investment?
