Dakota Digital Releases HDX Series Gauge Clusters for 1964-72 Chevelle

There isn’t much we can say negative about our timeless classics; the look, the sound, the feel — you can say the engineers knew what they were doing in terms of design in those days. Well, except maybe for the suspension and the braking systems, but that’s a conversation for another day.

Something else that could certainly use some improvement? The factory gauges. Although decent for the era, those sweeping speedos and rally gauge pods weren’t always entirely accurate in terms of readout. In addition, they’re about as analog as you can get, and in the days of modern comfort, convince and  There are plenty of ways you can go for direct-fit modern gauge outlays, but Dakota Digital has just announced their latest solution!

Official Release:

DAKOTA DIGITAL RELEASES THE HDX SERIES OF INSTRUMENTATION: DEBUTING THE 1964-72 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE HDX DIRECT-FIT INSTRUMENTATION

Dakota Digital is proud to unveil the HDX series of instrumentation!   This new series now includes applications to fit 1964-65, 1966-67, 1968, 1969 and 1970-72 Chevrolet Chevelle models!

The HDX series from Dakota Digital is the latest in aftermarket automotive instrumentation technology. Expanding upon the extremely popular VHX-series, HDX takes personalization and usability to a whole new dimension. Available with your choice of black or silver alloy gauge-face styling, each HDX system allows the user to select their favorite illumination color for the gauge readings and needles, as well as the TFT message center displays.

Calibration and personal settings can be manipulated with the built-in, capacitive-touch buttons, or the available Bluetooth app for Apple and Android devices. Each needle hub is spun-aluminum and black nickel plated to match the buttons. With the instrument system dialed in, including calibration of the speedometer and fuel gauge, the system can calculate your remaining fuel range, expressed in miles to empty.

All HDX instrument systems feature integrated dash indicators (turn signals, high beam, check engine, cruise control engaged and parking brake), and a red, user-settable warning light for each gauge.  Every kit is supplied with an optional buzzer for a tone to coincide with the warning lights. Additionally, the buzzer can give each button-press a tone. The level of personalization this package offers is nearly endless.

Supplied, solid state sending units with weather-tight harnesses ensure trouble-free operation. The control box allows for easier service, a nicer-looking finished product, in addition to an abundance of technology packed into a vintage dashboard.
HDX Applications start at $1,295 MSRP
